I standby my belief that near shouldn’t even exist. Homie looks like a 10-year-old kid and acts like a 10-year-old kid, yet he has the detective abilities of L and is smarter than light Yagami. The writers really just wanted to ruin the first half, while watching it seems that light and L are way more intelligent than everyone else in the story then the second half happens now apparently light is stupid and L was inferior the whole time

I'd of loved to see the additional mafia raid with Mello ect. That manga scene where the USA soldiers get their helmets cut and ripped off there heads so the Mafia memeber with the eyes 👀 could kill them. Also Sidoh, dragging that one soilder inside would've been something to see on camera

This was an amazing video that actually made me so happy! I'm always wary of videos like this because a lot of people (primarily, but not limited to, men) tend to discredit the shojo (and josei) category as inferior, which is really just misogyny and a disdain for femininity as something lesser. So I'm over the moon that none of that is present in this video, even in your reviews of series you didn't personally enjoy. I also gravitate towards shonen and seinen (and manga I wouldn't necessarily categorise as any of the four demographics), but there are so many good shojosei series I greatly enjoyed. I would love to see another installment of this video, purely so I can recommend you read "Orange". I would so love to hear your thoughts on it, since it is an amazing, thought-provoking, tender and complex manga with great pacing and a story that in no way overstays its welcome.

I honestly didn't know this about the Manga and now I look a little more favourably at the Anime for it. See, you were told early on in the story how and why Light is acting the way he's acting in the 2nd half of the series, he's defeated L and claimed victory, he's posing as L and has every single police and investigative group under his direct manipulative control. He therefore thinks he doesn't need to be heavily analytical about things, he's only got the members of the Anti-Kira Task Force to convince after all and every last one of the missed the whole "if I die Kira will assume my identity and control the world." that L said to them - which happens and they never question it. The problem with Death Note in its ending is the final final act where Near has a perfect copy of the Death Note made in less than a day, has the actual copy given to him and arranges things at the Yellow Box to out Light as Kira, this is a big ass pull and isn't believable, it shouldn't have worked at all.

Honestly, I didn’t even think about the second half being worse than the first until this video. Then I looked back at me watching it and I just feel like I subconsciously lost interest while watching the second half. Not like I didn’t want to watch it anymore, but it just felt harder to get through each episode, I was kinda getting lost while watching it. Plus there was the whole fact that L was my favorite character and I was really sad about him not being there anymore, not that that’s why it was harder to get through. But ya, either way Death Note is still in one of my top anime’s and I still love it :D

Dead Tube is a manga I put in the "so bad it's good" category. The whole point to me came across as trying to convey that people will do absolutely anything for attention online, but it is told in the most over-the-top, ridiculous way that the author pretty much from the get-go became what he was satirizing. I check in on it every so many months to see how nutty it has gotten and have a giggle.

You know out of all characters in media, while I relate to some ones and some are my favorites. None have ever reach the status of favorite character of all time. If someone's favorite character is a literal train of Thomas and Friends Edward or a crab named Tamatoa from Moana, maybe I'll never have an all time favorite character. Or a literally me c-you get the point. But out of all the characters and after thinking about CSM Part 2 Asa became my favorite character of all time. Because I guess in a sense she's literally me. I enjoyed Denji as a main character, but I enjoyed Asa more because Fujimoto is so good with his female cast. I'm sure it's because of his simping for dominant woman is a thing, but when he made Asa I'm surprised of how kind of realistic and frighteningly horrifying she was. As a person growing up I did make friendships, but sadly I wasn't able to sustain or have them together. I remember dumb me chosed a girl who literally left Grade 3 over issues with home life. And when I I'm left with a former friend, my reluctance and fear of them caused out friendship to break and it was too late when she left High School. Asa to me was a character that made me think of myself and my life. I wasn't as anti social as Asa but younger me cried over small things. It didn't help I was diagnosed as Neurodivergent as a preteen and that was when things felt hard. I had to fit in, maybe socialise, or try to get along with others. It didn't help that like Asa I felt the students I interacted it were pathetic. I viewed the cool kids like animals and brats. And sadly younger me was always the respectful and friendly teacher's pet. While I still made friends some were just a few. And a friend I had I sadly interact due to lack of motivation and the 2020 event happening. I didn't even know her email address and stuff and that was that. So to have a character I relate to makes me feel happy. And I love how Asa isn't your standard shy or meek character that is cute all the time. She's kind of a tired and antisocial person dealing with the loss of her parents as well as feeling lonely after every relationship she has ends up breaking apart. Asa wants connection but she's unsure if she should. She had her pet cat that was gone because of a horrible person, she tries to have one in the form of Yuko but Yuko wasn't a good friend and she is gone even though they made amends, and Denji while he shares the same plight as hee after the infamous scene in CSM there's no way they'll ever connect easily plus Asa is becoming too obssessive of him it becomes unhealyhy, and finally she has to deal with Yoru's BS. This girl cannot catch a break and I pity her and sympathize. If there is one thing both me and Asa have, both of us get tired from interaction. Tired from interacting with loud conversations and not understanding things. So when Asa struggles I hope she learns she must love herself in order to connect with others. As well as understanding her wish on selfishness is making her unable to seek more connections.

After reading and watching the anime ver and manga ver, I can say that the Manga was way better than the Anime ver

i gotta give u props for framing this as a 'me problem' instead of tryin to say this is a terrible romance because xyz. I didnt watch or read kaguya so i have no opinion on this but soo often when it comes to- any piece of media, really, any part of it also, ppl confuse personal opinions and grdges with an inherent flaw that must be fixed, and not just, yknow, taste. It starts feeling very tiresome to discuss media w people when they get so angry! anyway, good video :]

If you want to read shojo manga that don’t center around romance like Yona of the Dawn with interesting protagonist, I recommend Skip Beat, Junji Ito works, Hell Girl, Fushigi Yugi. But for romance you should definitely give a shot to Ai Yazawa’s work (Nana’s author) For more recent works there’s In The Clear Moonlit Dusk which has astonishing art work as well

It’s too bad you gave up on Sailor Moon. I felt like you in the beginning, but after finishing it, yes it’s definitely one of my favorite things. It has one of the best final war arc in anime, Usagi is simply one of the best protagonist, but all that mostly come to sense once you finish the manga/series (the final arc was simply THAT good). Her relations with the antagonists, her and other character’s identity crisis, lack of self confidence, how gender and sexuality is explored.. it’s a story so interesting, has a great lore but above all what makes me like it so much has to be the characters, their dynamic and their writing, all so enjoyable. I hope you give it another shot.

Glad to know my buddy and I weren't wrong in skipping out on the second half of Death Note after L died, albeit because we thought it was a cop out that there was another L sitting around and doing nothing that whole time.

Already watched this like a year ago but haven't left any comment lol. Great work btw! I know the SnO from the anime and I liked it because I was younger and didn't pay attention much to the story. The aesthetics, RokuBeni's relationship, and Tatara (hell yeah Tatara I love you pls marry me). Later on I found out it's an adaptation and ended up reading the manga after painstakingly searching for it. At that time I don't really pay attention to the difference in story. I do know there are differences. Then I grew up and joins a SnO group in facebook for a while and gosh do I instantly realize the difference between the two. I ended up rereading the manga only to tell my younger self: "You're a fucking idiot dude". Especially the part you mentioned in the video (Benio holding him back) which makes me horrid. Like bro respects and have adoration towards her and they make him says that?? Damn. Also they make my man Tatara ugly as hell in anime. Ik his face hasn't been revealed that time but ugh. Despite all of that, I'm still kinda fond of it. It's the anime that makes me start reading mangas and kicking me deeper into animanga world. Not even Naruto nor Aikatsu has this big impact on my young weeb phase. Also the opening songs are great. I don't remember much about the ending atm. Guess I'll check them out. Btw did you know that it used to have a mobile game? I played it once back in the time but deleted it cuz it's really shitty lmfao. edit: Came back from watching the op & ed and all I could say is that it has wayyy better direction than the anime itself. Especially the endings.

Man I love the second part and I was always so confused why people didn't. But then I realized I enjoy the depiction of a society in fear, an almost proto-dystopian one where one hidden man holds the monopoly on violence. The media's sensationalization, the cultish mentality of his followers, the brutality that befalls on those who expresses contempt for Kira. It's all so bleak.

I just hate Mello and the easily avoidable ending. Mello Is such an annoying character and is in the most stereotypical bad boy gangster ever. The easily avoidable ending is that when he gave takada the 5 empty pages light could've said to tear 1 or 2 pages and only use them during that farm place

The crucial point to me is not L's death but Light's father death, Light is simply not "active" anymore after that point

I came across this manga on my late teenager period and find it kind of refreshing. I keep reading it even during my first year of college but after the 15second video arc the story where lacking its initial appealing. My head canon is that the story ended around vol 13 and 14, with the Yomiko the ender arc. The next volumes doesn't make things more intresting, is like a "film research club" arc 2.0 and a bootleg crazy rascal arc 2.0 inmediatly after that, and the two recently arcs are just boring

If you're not into Fruba's manga because of the art (btw, same ✋🏻😭), just watch the anime (the 2019 one) 💗 they completely adapted it and the art is pretty on that one 🥰

Just discovered you! Shojo manga has such a huge variety. There is literally something for anyone. Many where romance isn’t the main focus. Top Secret is a psychological horror/thriller shojo involving extracting memories from the brain after the person’s death. It goes into the morality of invading the victims privacy and using the memories to solve crimes and yes there is a lot of gore. Then there is the psychological shojo called Mr. Mallow Blue which involves two people swapping bodies. We got Yasha which is a drama/mystery shojo involving the main character whose mother gets killed by a group of men and he is taken hostage. If you seen Banana Fish, some of the characters do make an appearance in the manga as it’s by the same author

I wish the art quality is still as good as the earlier parts of Part II.
